Mickey takes 45 minutes to ride on his bike to Minnie's house that is 5 miles away and then walk the rest of the distance which is a mile to school with her. If Mickey rides the distance of 6 miles from his house to the school on his bike at the rate he rode from his house to her house it would take him 30 minutes.

Let the speed at which Mickey rides his bike be X, as he takes 30 minutes to ride 6 miles at that speed it is equal to `6/(1/2) = 12` miles/hour.

Let the speed at which they walk the 1 mile from Minnie's house to the school be X.

=> `5/12 + 1/X = 3/4`

=> `1/X = 3/4 - 5/12`

=> `1/X = 1/3`

=> X = 3 miles/hour
