Your first sentence sets the stage for your summary. I would suggest bringing the information about each character you mention together. Cassie is jealous of Suzella at first (why?) but resolves those feelings after helping Suzella deal with the problem with a teacher. Stacy is forced to leave home, which causes everyone much worry (why?). Papa is struggling against the plantation owners and has to leave home to work for the railroad (how does that choice work out?). I probably would omit the share-croppers from your summary since you have said the story is about one family, not the whole community.

I don't understand your last sentence. Mama and Papa get what for Stacy and Mo? Mama and Papa understand something about Stacy and Mo? Stacy and Mo return to Mama and Papa from the cane fields?

You need to make it clear who is jealous in this paragraph. I know that Cassie is jealous of Suella but in your paragraph it sounds a though Suella is the jealous one. Then state why Cassie finally stops being jealous of Suella. Why does everyone worry when Stacy leaves home. How does papa working a long way from home affect the family, what is good about it, what is bad about it. Do mama and papa pick stacy and mo up after Christmas? What do you mean by this last sentence. Why is it important?
