Let The Circle Be Unbroken by Mildred Taylor is about an African American family in rural Mississippi in the 1930's. Cassie, the story teller and only daughter, Can't accept her half white cousin Suzella because she's jealous. Papa has to deal with plantation owners trying to take his land, and the community share-croppers are being cheated out of their money. Papa goes to work at the railroad a long way from home to pay for taxes. Stacy the oldest brother and his friend mo leave home to work at cane fields and leave everyone worried sick. Cassie stops being jealous of her cousin because she helps her with a problem with the teacher. Mama and Papa get Stacey and Mo a little while after christmas.
Your first sentence sets the stage for your summary. I would suggest bringing the information about each character you mention together. Cassie is jealous of Suzella at first (why?) but resolves those feelings after helping Suzella deal with the problem with a teacher. Stacy is forced to leave home, which causes everyone much worry (why?). Papa is struggling against the plantation owners and has to leave home to work for the railroad (how does that choice work out?). I probably would omit the share-croppers from your summary since you have said the story is about one family, not the whole community.
I don't understand your last sentence. Mama and Papa get what for Stacy and Mo? Mama and Papa understand something about Stacy and Mo? Stacy and Mo return to Mama and Papa from the cane fields?
