South America and Africa have some of the most unique features. Select one geographic feature and explain how it is "unique" in the world.
South America has some of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world such as Patagonia. It is also the place where there are some of the most pristine rain forests left in the world. In fact, the Amazon Jungle is the largest rainforest in the world. This is very important due to global warming. Also when you consider the wildlife that lives there, it is amazing.
Africa has the second greatest rainforest. Africa also contains areas of high cloud forest, swamps and flooded forests. Also ironically, perhaps, some of the greatest desert are also found in the northern tip of Africa.
It's not clear whether you're asking for one feature total or one on each continent. So I'll give you one on each.
In South America, specifically Venezuela, we find Angel Falls. This waterfall is the highest in the world. Water going over this waterfall plunges more than 3,000 feet.
In Africa, I will also pick a waterfall. This one is Victoria Falls, on the Zambezi River between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
This waterfall is not the tallest or the widest, but it is the biggest in area (height times width). It is 5600 feet wide and 360 feet high.
