There is a lot of optimism in the "Songs of Innocence" Introduction.  This optimism and enthusiasm is somewhat tapered in the "Songs of Experience" Introduction, where the speaker seems to have acquired wisdom, and there is more melancholy imagery, although I still think it ends on an uplifting note.
