An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

I believe you can make the argument by focusing on the character of Sophie, but ultimately I don't think it is valid. Any novel that examines the horrors of the holocaust with such searing detail and empathy cannot be called anti-semitic on its face.

You may be able to create an interesting essay on the topic, however, by focusing on what Sophie did to survive in the camp and how Nathan's behavior is compared with that of the men in Auschwitz, thus putting a Nazi and a Jewish man on equal footing as it relates to the main character.
