The quadratic equation 3y^2+10y=8 has to be solved.

3y^2+10y=8

=> 3y^2+10y - 8 = 0

=> 3y^2 - 2y + 12y - 8 = 0

=> y(3y - 2) + 4(3y - 2) = 0

=> (y + 4)(3y - 2) = 0

`y +4 = 0 => y = -4`

`3y - 2 = 0 => y = 2/3`

The solution of the quadratic equation is y = -4 and y = 2/3
