The equation `2=7+b/4` has to be solved.

`2=7+b/4`

Subtract 7 from both the sides

`2- 7 = 7 + b/4 - 7`

=> `-5 = b/4`

Multiply both sides by 4

=> `-5*4 = (b/4)*4`

=> `-20 = b`

The solution of the equation is `b =-20`

2 = 7 + b/4

To find out the value of the variable b it must be isolated,

2 = 7 + b/4

2 - 7 = 7 + b/4 - 7               Subtract 7 from both sides

-5 = b/4

-5 * 4 = b/4 * 4

-20 = b

b = -20 Answer

You can verify the answer by inputting the value in the equation above.

The value of b has to be determined that satisfies 2=7+b/4.

Isolate b to one side of the equation and the numeric terms to the other side.

2=7+b/4

Add -7 to both the sides

2 - 7 = 7 - 7 + b/4

-5 = b/4

Multiply both sides by 4

-5*4 = 4*(b/4)

-20 = b

The required solution of the equation 2=7+b/4 is b = -20
