Solve the system using 2 methods. x+2y=6 2x+6y=8

Expert Answers

An illustration of the letter 'A' in a speech bubbles

x+2y=6...(1)

2x+6y=8.....(2)

First let us multiply (1) with -2 and add to (2)

-2x-4y=-12

2x+6y=8

==> 2y=-4

==> y=-2

==> x= 6-2y = 6-2(-2)= 6+4=10
