(x^2 - 9)/(x^2 + 3x) has to be simplified.

Use the relation a^2 - b^2 = (a - b)(a + b)

`(x^2-9)/(x^2 + 3x)`

=> `((x - 3)(x+3))/(x*(x+3))`

=> `(x - 3)/(x)`

The required simplified form is `(x - 3)/x`
