The size of Earth is finite, but the number of people has been increasing exponentially, due to the advent of modern medicine and technology. Resources on Earth may someday not be adequate to support life as we know it. We see this in undeveloped nations who lack resources that developed nations enjoy. By recycling, we can take used materials and repurpose them into new products. This prevents waste from accumulating, reduces energy usage, pollutants in the air and water and is a method of waste reduction. Green house gas emissions should also be reduced by recycling. We can take such items as glass, metal, plastic, electronics and paper to name a few and collect them to be reprocessed into new materials. Even biodegradable wastes from our food or garden waste can be composted enriching the soil we grow our vegetables and flowers in. This is just one example of an action that can improve the world we live in for future generations.
