I have a class assignment which is to write a newspaper front page from the time of Romeo and Juliet. Can some people suggest some ideas for getting the ball rolling on this project? I am not sure how to write a newspaper article or what some good "headlines" would look like... any advice would help, thanks!

Write a society page article. You know, people of all ages "on the pavement," as Edward Arlington Robinson wrote in "Richard Cory," have always been intrigued by what goes on in the lives of those socially and economically above them. In fact, those on the same level keep a close eye on with these social goings-on, as well.
Try something like this:
A grand masked ball was held yesterday evening by Lord and Lady Capulet for the birthday of their lovely daughter, Juliet__________Guests included _________But, rumor has it that some of the household of Montague, the family held in enmity by the Capulets, were unexpectedly sighted at this fete. In Verona, Tybalt Capulet was heard _________At the market, this reporter overheard the groundskeeper saying that in the morning of the next day, he noticed some odd breakings of small branches on the orchard trees near the wall of the Capulet house after the fete________________[You can fill in the blanks]
Why don't you take some key events from the play and use those as leading stories? For example, the brawl in Act I scene i could be used as a key story. Remember, headlines need to use alliteration or puns, so you could have a headline like: "Fueding Families Fight Again" or something like that. You could also have a society feature about rumours concerning the upcoming marriage between Juliet and Paris. And what about an advert for an Apothecary or something like that? Try and include some humour. Hope this helps!
How about "Debate Rages: Marriage for Love or Arranged Marriage?" You could take the non-traditional angle here and argue that marriage for love obviously ended in tragedy for this young couple who spurned their parent's advice.
Or, you could write: "Extra! Feud Rages Between Warring Families: Who Will Pay the Price?" This way, you could look at the murky history of the feud between the Capulets and Montagues and trace the subterfuge of their children that leads to the tragedy.
Hope this helps!
