Although many people would very much like there to be universal world peace, so far, that has never happened. Many religions advocate various forms of peace and non-violence and attempt to promote it, as do many individual world religious leaders. Such figures as the Reverend Martin Luther King (Baptist), Archbishop Desmond Tutu (Anglican), and Mahatma Gandhi (Hindu) have been advocates of non-violent solutions to various forms of conflict in the world.
Although many religious groups strive to reduce violence and create peace, that isn't a task any one group or organization can accomplish on a global level. To create universal world peace would require the cooperation of everyone alive in the world, something very unlikely to happen. What religious organizations can do is urge their own members and leaders to support peace initiatives and eschew violence.
