First we need to calculate the area of the floor

Since it is a rectangulal floor, then the area to be covered is L*I= 9*3=27 m ^2

            =270,000 cm^2

Now we need to cover the area with (n) numbers of square each with 30 cm side:

Then the area of the square is 30*30=900 cm^2

Then 900*n = 270,000

==> n =300 tiles

Then we need 300 square tiles to cover the area.

Given:

Length of floor = L = 9 m

Width of room = l = 3 m

Length of sides of square tiles = t = 30 cm = 0.3 m

Therefore:

Area of the floor =  A = L x l = 9x3 = 27 m^2

Area of one tile = a = t^2 = 0.3^2 = 0.09 m^2

Number of tiles required = (Area of floor)/(area of one tile)

= 27/0.09 = 300

Answer:

300 tile are required to cover the floor.

In order to find out the number of needed tiles to cover the length and the width of the floor, first we have to do the conversions from centimeter (cm) unit of measure to the meter (m) unit of measure.

30cm = 30/100 m = 0.3m

The number of tiles which will cover the length L will be: 9/0.3 = 30 tiles

The number of tiles which will cover the width w will be:

3/0.3 = 10 tiles

In order to find out how many tiles are needed to cover the entire rectangular surface of the wall, we must calculate the area of the floor, using the number of tiles found above:

A = L*w = 30x10 = 300 tiles.

Since two units are given we must first convert the different units into one uniform unit. So,

30cm = 30/100 m = 0.3m

Next in order to find out the number of tiles required to cover the entire floor, we must calculate the area of the entire floor. We can do this by multiplying L x l = 27 square metres.

Next we have to find the area of the square tile. We do this by multiplying its length and breadth:

.3 x .3 = .9 sq.ms.

To find out the number of tiles required to cover the entire floor we have to divide the area of the entire floor 27 sq.ms. by the area of one tile .9 sq.ms

27 / .9 = 270 / 9 = 300 tiles.

Answer = 300 tiles

Length of the rectangular shape = 9m or 9oo cm and  the width is 3m or 300 cm

Threfore we can arrange 900/30 = 30 tiles of 30 cm by 30 cm  squares along the length.

Along the width we can arrange 300/30 = 10 tiles.

So The entire rectangular area could  be covered by 30*10 = 300 tiles..
