Is there any point on the trajectory where v and a are perpendicular to each other?

Since the velocity `bar v`  has both components, `v_x`  and `v_y` , for `bar a`  to be parallel to `bar v` , then, the projectile needs to be launched at an angle of `90^o` . When the projectile is launched at an angle of 90^o, there is no horizontal component `v_x`  and hat a is parallel to `bar v` .

Since `bar a`  is vertically downward, then the horizontal component `v_x`  is parallel to x axis at the top of trajectory, hence `bar a`  is perpendicular to `bar v` .

Hence, `bar a`  is not parallel to `bar v`  at any point of trajectory since the projectile is launched at an angle of `30^o`  and `bar a`  is perpendicular to `bar v`  at the top of trajectory.
