Obama is probably the most protected President in history.  Any threat should be taken seriously but we need to remember that EVERY President gets thousands of threats a year.

The obvious worry is a racially motivated person.  The Klan is dead and skinheads are usually barely able to get a GED...much less plan and carry out a complex assassination plot like that.

Whereas i disagree with 80% of Obama's policies I hope he lives a good long life and hope neither he nor his family ever have to deal with a serious threat.

Here's what I always say to my students when they hit me with a "what if?" question: What if a meteorite crashed through the window and landed on my desk?

Yes, we need to be prepared, but we don't need to be so worried that we shut everything down. As I said before, I'm sure our Secret Service is prepared for any number of possible scenarios.

I've heard of only one really serious threat, which I'm embarrassed to say came out of my own state! There is going to be so much security around President Obama that it will be very difficult for anyone to try to harm him. If you are aware of threats, imagine how much information the Secret Service has and is guarding against! I don't think we have to worry about assassination.

As much as I did not want this man to be the leader of our country, I do not wish him any harm.  It will truly be tragic if someone were to assassinate him.  However, that is the risk that comes with the job.  Every president has had this hanging over his head, and several were actual victims: Abe Lincoln and JFK just to name two.  Ronald Reagan was also shot at although he survived.  Any time you are in a position to lead a great country, you take on the risk of being a target for crazy people.  We all need to pray for and support our president regardless of whether or not he is the man for whom we voted.

Are you really that naive???

The secret service is there to follow orders from their "higher ups" -- NOT to protect.

we don;t have to worry? what if hijackers take over a plane again and this time make it to the president or not to be controversial, but skin heads, the threats that was on the news all over the world and news papers. that's what i think obama has to worry about besides the war in Afghanistan.
