As far as I can tell, there will always be sexism and discrimination based on gender. Fourteen hours ago, there was a lawsuit against Walmart for gender discrimination. The lawsuit stated that women are not paid as well as men and that promotions are harder to come by. Perhaps the greatest place were gender stereotypes are seen is in pop music. All you need to do is listen a little and you will hear it everywhere. Here is a quote from a student newspaper from the University of Maine concerning a modern pop song:

"If I were a modern woman being told, 'Shush girl, shut your lips, do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips,' I would not find that particularly appealing."
