There are several things that you should aware of when thinking about the Cold War. Let me name a few things that you should know:
- Make sure that you know about the importance of NATO. The chief opposition to the Soviet Union was the United States of America and NATO .
- You should also know what role nuclear arms played in the conflict. During the Cold War, there was a proliferation of nuclear arms. For this reason there was never a major conflict, as this would have led to the destruction of the world.
- You might also want to know something about the Korean War and the division of Korea into North and South. Along with this, the Cuban Missile Crisis is a must. Review the major events.
- Of course, you should know something about the end of the Cold War and what caused it, such as the collapse of the Soviet Unions' economy and the role or President Regan.
I will add two links that will give you the main points. It would be good to review.
