We learn about the "Curtis Parents" mostly from memories that Ponyboy shares with the reader.  We learn that his mother was a mom that cooked and baked.  We learn that she, like Sodapop could make people smile and that she "knew the score."  She was in her 30s - 40's and their dad was 40 when they were killed in a car accident.  Darry looked like his dad, but he had his mother's eyes.  The father was a good dad, or at least that is the way Ponyboy portrays him.  He was close to Darry and he had pet names that he made up for the boys.  From all that we read these were loving, hardworking and good parents.
