In one word - what do you think this story is about? and Why does it end here?

One word is tough, but I think that suffering would be a good word to describe the story in one word; however brotherly love also describes it very well. As for the ending, I think it ends as it does to show that at least some of the problems between the two brothers have become better. As Sonny “begins to play "Am I Blue," he takes control of the music, and becomes "part of a family again." At the end of the set, the narrator realizes that the music has helped Sonny to stay free and avoid drowning in his suffering. Furthermore, the narrator recognizes that the blues can help everyone be true to what and who they are.”
