.I will be writing about my Grandfathers death, which happened almost four years ago, I wanted to know, how do I start? Where do I start? I have ot include how I felt, what I thought etc. So it has to be 3-4 pages long. But where do I start? How do I begin? What should my Introduction be?
Any advice will help! Thank you.
As a teacher, I would suggest that you ask yourself some basic questions first. 1) Is this a topic I am about which I am comfortable writing? 2) Am I able to write about this topic in such a way that will “show” my readers this experience and not just tell them about it? If the answers to these questions are yes, then you are ready for the next step.
An autobiography narrative is an essay that is meant told like a story, so many of the conventions of the short story will apply here. I recommend that you try creating a plot sequence chart as a means of organizing your narrative before you start writing. Filling in these elements ensures that you have a complete picture of this event (narrative) before you start writing, and this should then make it easier to craft the narrative.
Good luck and God Bless.
Why not start by describing something you used to do with your grandfather? This gives us a context for him, and what makes him so special as well as his relationship to you. Then you could explain the effect his passing had on your life.
