Your question isn't entirely clear. Is the question assuming that you are a student of nursing and have just participated in a mock research--or a real research--project? Is the question assuming that the answerer is a currently a nurse and trying to compare the role of research nurse to that of a non-research nurse?

I'll address the latter possibility since no information on a project is provided. The role and duties of non-research nurse and research nurse overlap on the plan of general patient care. The role of the nurse in both occupation specialties is to make sure the patient is safe, informed, protected and supported throughout examination, treatment, or a hospital stay.
