Heartburn is common in pregnant women, so you might avoid spicy foods or onions, and you will find out if there are other foods that cause this the hard way, unfortunately.

Try to remind yourself that everything that goes into your body also goes into the baby's.  This can make you more conscious of everything you eat, and help you to avoid smokers too.

Having a growing human being inside of you is not fat.  It's just not.  You will feel that way, sure, because your body is going to get bigger, simple as that. But also, as a young person, you will lose any extra weight you might gain more easily as your metabolism is higher than a person in their 30s.

Prenatal care is important, and possibly vitamins.  See a doctor or go to a clinic and get some professional advice about diet and vitamins.

Sometimes births can be more difficult with young people as their bodies aren't fully developed, and doctors can anticipate these problems too and help you to deal with them.

It concerns me that your status indicates you are in the 10th grade and asking an online forum for pregnancy advice. Please talk to your parents, guardians, school nurse or a doctor. Healthcare professionals are the only ones who can give you proper medical advice and care. That being said, eat healthfully and remember that yes you are eating for two, but the second person is very small and requires little more than your healthful eating for one. Exercise will go a long way toward keeping you and the baby fit. Prenatal classes should be taken, and practice, practice, practice.

TALK TO A DOCTOR.

My wife's two main pregnancy tips are

  1. Eat healthily.  It will make things better for the baby, and it will also be easier on the mother.  The mom gets big and clumsy feeling enough without putting on any unneeded pounds.
  2. Get exercise.  It makes it easier to deal with the added bulk, and it just generally helps a woman feel better at a pretty uncomfortable time.
