Most of the descriptions of the businesses that surround the town square and Maycomb County Courthouse can be found in Chapter 15 as the children make their way from home to the jail, where they find Atticus sitting alone confronting the lynch mob. Several of the businesses, such as the O. K. Cafe and V. J. Elmore's, are mentioned in previous chapters (see Chapter 11).
