In the next 20-50 years, we will have maxed out all the fossil fuels in the world, and our once reliable resource will be gone. What do we need to do? We need alternative energy to survive, or this "human world" as we know it will shut down in just a couple of decades!
How about something that tries to tie together multiple issues that are related to alternative energy?
For example, something like: There is only one issue which combines terrorism, the economy, technology, pollution and the environment and it is alternative energy.
Your thesis statement should be to the point yet make the reader want to know more about what you have to say. You might begin with something dramatic like, (The destruction is real, the damage is becoming worse and humanity is now on a collision course with the natural world unless we use alternative energy to save our environment.)
Be sure you have good strong facts to support your statement and use examples of the types of alternative energy and how they are beneficial.
What is your position on the topic? Are you arguing for or against alternative energy solutions and the impact the environment? I am assuming you will be trying to persuade the audience of the benefits of alternative energy resources. That being said, here is what I came up with...
As Americans face tough challenges in our economy today, the possibilties of alternative energy are quickly becoming the topic of conversation in the media. Although the concept of using alternative energy resources is not new, citizens seem to be opening their eyes and ears to these ideas due to the ultimate affect it would have on their wallets. While there are many benefits to consider when choosing alternatives resources, too many people fail to recognize the long lasting benefits it would have on our environment for years to come.
Hope this helps!
"Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! GO PLANET!" "By your powers combined I am CAPTAIN PLANET!..."
The creators of the cartoon "Captain Planet and The Planeteers" were on to something in 1990 when they created this remarkable jingle and planet saving cartoon.
