I'd have to say Asia has done the best job of overcoming the effects of colonialism. Look at what a hard time we had in Vietnam. Look also at how many Asians are doing very well in this country in some challenging professions.

When are you talking about?  In the 1800s, you'd probably argue that Latin America did the best since there were so many independence movements, even if they were led by ethnic Europeans.  On the other hand, you'd have to say that Asia has done the best relatively recently with Japan becoming a major power in the early 1900s, India becoming independent, and now with the rise of China.
