My soon to be Ex and her lawyer won't allow me access to personal property until I sign his settlement agreement.  Is this not blackmail or extortion?

I require some help because she has taken all our money and I can't afford a lawyer at this time.  There is livestock and tools of my trade preventing me from my livelyhood.  I cannot afford a lawyer and need help.  Thanks

I am not a lawyer but I think any intelligent, objective person would tell you that this is a time when you really need to talk to a lawyer. It doesn't cost much to talk to a lawyer one time, and some offer free initial consultations. You can even get some information by calling lawyers on the telephone and explaining your financial problems. I have been through a divorce myself and probably know how you feel. As far as money is concerned, it seems to me that if you have no money and your wife does, then your lawyer could probably figure out a way to get paid by the person with the deep pockets. But you are obviously at a terrible disadvantage right now and really need someone with legal knowledge and experience on your side.
