Many different Native American art forms are popular among non-Native Americans. Different tribes have different traditional arts and crafts, and many earn substantial income from putting on performances and selling craft items to tourists. Certain tribes offer tours in which tourists can observe crafters at work.
One popular activity among tourists is attending Native American dances or other rituals. As these are part of the religious life of many tribes, they are not purely art forms. Navajo sand painting and Hopi dances are popular in the western United States.
Beadwork, turquoise jewellery, dreamcatchers, pottery, and kachina dolls are also popular craft items made in Native American communities, and tours often include observing crafters making these items.
