  1. Jimmy Carter.  Back in the 1978, he got the leaders of Israel and Egypt to sign a peace agreement.  The hope was that peace between Israel and the Arab nations would help the Palestinians too.  It didn't really.
  2. Bill Clinton.  In 1994 he got the Palestinians and the Israelis to agree to a peace deal of sorts.
  3. George W. Bush.  Laid out a "road map" that he said would lead to peace.  But he never really had the time or the inclination to push hard for it.
