If Mercutio became a real person and wrote a diary, what would he write as a response to the happenings in Act 1.
The situation is getting pretty tense here in Verona. The Capulets and the Montagues have been fighting for a long time and things don't seem to be getting any better. Earlier today, a brawl broke out between them in the streets. Luckily, the Prince came along and broke it up, but those two families are going to be in big trouble if they don't stop the fighting.
Luckily, my friend Romeo wasn't involved. That guy seems a bit depressed lately. He must be in love with Rosaline. He's a true romantic. As for me, I always say "If love be rough with you, be rough with love". I'll see what I can do to get him out of his funk. There was a major party tonight at the Capulets. Luckily, everyone was in masks so that should have kept anyone from recognizing any Montagues who crashed the party. Maybe Romeo will meet a girl who will bring him out of his sad mood.
More later. TTFN.
