for my essay im talking about how weed has affected peoples lives not sure which side to go on so what i need is some emotional stories i could talk about in my essay ex sad stories and how it affected your life and things like that.
I have known some people who used marijuana recreationally all the time. They had trouble getting through a few hours without smoking, and the desire to smoke weed seemed to have replaced any goals in their life. That was fairly sad.
On the other hand, I have heard of many cases of improved lives for people who used medical marijuana for a variety of disorders.
In your essay, it will be important for you to take a strong side. I agree with #3 that you need to acknowledge the opposite argument, but I would also caution you not to sit on the fence. Let one opinion dominate your thesis statement and drive your essay, and add respectful acknowledgment of the other side's arguments in one or two body paragraphs.
I have no personal experience with marijuana; however, I just had a conversation with a friend whose brother is functioning normally only because of his medicinal use of marijuana. He suffered from some sort of seizure disorder, and the marijuana helped minimize the seizures. He's working and supporting a family and living a productive life--something he credits to the medicinal properties of marijuana. It seems to me this is another aspect which could be explored by a research work on this topic.
It would help us if we knew what your thesis was. While I've had no personal experience with marijuana, I do know there are positive and negative aspects to the use of the product. How you present the information will depend upon whether you are pro or con. One caution, regardless of what stand you take, you must acknowledge the other side's argument.
