Management is both an art and a science.
Management can be seen as a science because some aspects of management are technical and objective. For example, management consists in part of making sure that the right materials are present in the right amounts at the right times. It also consists of making sure that work processes are done in such a way as to be efficient. All of this is fairly scientific.
However, there are aspects of management that cannot be done on a scientific basis. These are the parts of management that have to do with interpersonal relationships. Managers must be able to lead people to some degree. Leadership is something that is more about feelings and instincts than about scientifically determined procedures. It is something that cannot be completely taught.
Thus, we can see that management includes aspects that are more like science and other aspects that are more like art.
Yes Management is both- An art and science too.
Art implies application of knowledge & skill to trying about desired results. i.e. - Creativity, practical knowledge, personal skill, etc.
Science gives the basic truth about a particular field of enquiry. i.e. - Experimentation and observation, universally accepted principles etc.
Management needs this science too to achieve the goal.
Unless the principle of science the application of our creativity could become difficult.
And so Management needs both Art and science.
