Perhaps, Jem locates an artifact of Juliet's and buries it in the time capsule with something of his own? In this case, Jem may come into the possession of Juliet's vial that has held the poison. Along with this, he can bury his costume in which he nearly met his death at the hands of Bob Ewell.
