What is the inverse of  g (x) = 4x-1?

brian5 | Student

rockshox,

inverse of this function can be show by

x = 4g(x) - 1

4g(x) = x + 1

g(x) = (x + 1)/4

g(x) = 4x-1.

Find x interms of g(x) as below as if you are solving for x:

4x=g(x)+1.

x={g(x)+1}/4

Now change g(x) into x on the right.

Inverse of g(x) = (x+1)/4 .
