Yes, people who think they are inferior are not going to find it easy to be successful. If you don't think you are going to be successful, you will think you are going to fail before you begin. This can prevent you from trying, and lead to a lack of success overall.

A person who has an inferiority complex will most often have a harder time achieving success in life than someone who does not have such a condition.  Let us look at the first line of the eNotes entry about inferiority complexes.  It defines this as

A psychological condition that exists when a person's feelings of inadequacy are so intense that daily living is impaired.

If a person feels so inadequate that their daily living is impaired, then they will surely have a very hard time succeeding in life.  They will feel that they are never good enough.  This is bad because confidence is often important in achieving success.

This will not always be the case, however.  For some people, the negative feelings will serve as a motivator.  They will try harder because they feel inferior.  As the link says, these people will

strive to improve themselves in an effort to neutralize the negative feelings of inferiority.

As with most things having to do with human behavior, inferiority complexes do not affect all people the same way.  However, an inferiority complex is usually a hindrance in attaining success.
