However, as someone who has worked in a myriad of work environments, I would have to say that some aspects of feudalism seem to have survived, particularly in workplaces that are non-unionized. The cubicle has replaced the plot of land the serf must work, but obeisance to the lord of the manor seems alive and well in some instances.
I'll agree with that. The Industrial Revolution created a much more regimented and formalized workplace. It created large companies where workers came to be very much separated from managers and owners. These things were very different from the small artisanal concerns that dominated the economy before the Industrial Revolution.
