I do not believe that this question is asking about the correct chapter. Chapter two focuses entirely on introducing readers to Mrs. Granger and her love for vocabulary and dictionaries. Nick is concerned that Mrs. Granger's class is going to make his fifth grade year a very long year. Chapter three then begins with information about the first day of school. We are told that most of the classes tried to get students acquainted with each other and handed out books. Then Nick goes to Mrs. Granger's class at the end of the day, and the first thing that the students have to do is take a 35 question vocabulary pretest. Nick knew most of the words, but Mrs. Granger doesn't let up on the intensity. She gets the kids doing all kinds of various reviews for 37 straight minutes.
