In Paradise Lost, Discord is the first daughter of Sin, and Death is the son of Sin. In the poem, Discord sows division between God's creatures, such as when she causes animals to struggle against each other after Adam and Eve eat of the Tree of Knowledge.
Discord is the first daughter of Sin. This implies that Sin, personified as a female, has other daughters. If that is indeed the case, however, we never get to find out their identities. But we do know about Death, for he—and Death is personified as a male by Milton—is the son of Sin.
