I'm doing a comparative text study for english and I really need help choosing which book I should use that I've already read and what movie to compare it to

For my class you have to choose a book and a movie to write about and compare the similarities. For the books I've read, I've read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Which one should I pick and what movie should I compare it to? Please help!

I certainly think you should use either Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice or Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre because these works would be much better known to your readers than the other two selections, both as novels and as motion pictures. There have been several film adaptations of both Pride and Prejudice and of Jane Eyre, and some of these ought to be easy to obtain on DVDs. The 1944 movie version of Jane Eyre has an excellent reputation and still retains good cinematic values. It stars Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine, both of them famous actors of their era. The film version of Pride and Prejudice made in 1940, starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier with a wonderful supporting cast, is considered a classic.
