There are several valid reasons that one could argue why Prince Hamlet is justified in taking his uncle's life. Hamlet was directly petitioned to avenge his father's death by his father's ghost, who explained how Claudius poisoned him while he was sleeping in the orchard and immediately married Gertrude. Hamlet not only promises to avenge his father's death but also believes that his mother's marriage to Claudius is incestuous.
