This is a challenging project! The requirement that you use a binomial system means you need to use two (bi- means two) names for each member of the family. Following the system of classification used to designate species of animals, this would mean the first of the two names would designate the particular family and the second name would identify the particular individual.

In the Jones family, therefore, you might have Jones father and Jones mother as one generation, with Jones sister and Jones brother as the second generation. If you really wanted to extend the system to more distant relationships, you might need to consider using three names to provide all the needed information; for example Smith Jones grandmother or Reynolds Jones cousin.
