We commonly do light physical exercises such as vacuuming, gardening, cooking, eating, walking slowly, etc. These exercises require very little effort, especially when compared to strenuous exercises such as heavy lifting or running.

If we are quantifying the effects of changing the duration of light physical exercises, there are a number of control, dependent and independent variables. For example, a control variable is the type of light exercise we are doing. The same exercise must continue. Another control variable is the environment. The exercise must be conducted in the same environment for the entire duration. The independent variable here is the duration of exercise. The dependent variables are the same as what we generally measure during any exercise. These may include heart rate, number of calories consumed, weight change, etc.

Hope this helps.
