We Should All Be Feminists is a book-length essay by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and is adapted from her TEDx Talk of the same title. A main argument of the piece is that "feminism" shouldn't be considered a bad word by anybody. The writing prompt appears fairly wide open as long as your essay is making an argument related to Adichie's work. I would start with whether or not you agree with her, and I personally suggest that you agree with her overall concept. If you disagree, your essay not only has to disprove her argument, but you must find supporting evidence for your own argument. This can be done, but it will mean a lot more work on your end.

Start with a thesis statement that makes an argument that you wish to prove and support with evidence from Adichie's work. Many of her examples dip into experiences from Nigeria, but sexism exists across the planet, so I would consider making an argument that pushes readers toward seeing how Adichie's argument applies to current situations in the country that you live in. The thesis could go something like the following statement:

Although We Should All Be Feminists focuses on gender stereotyping in Nigeria, sexism, sexual objectification, and gender stereotyping are just as prevalent in the United States.
