How do I write a work experience essay?

I did a week of work experience in painting (house, buildings) with my dad.

I have to write a essay about it, but I don't know what points I need to mention to cover everything.

In any assignment like this, consulting the requirements laid out by the teacher/ instructor will be critical.  I would say that there are several ways one can go in writing the essay.  The first part could consist of the daily routines of the week's work.  Time started, how many sites a day did both you and your father travel to, and the type of work done at the sites.  Perhaps, delving into some of the exact specifics of what was done in the week, the skills learned, as well as where strengths and weaknesses were discovered.  I would say that a second part of delving could involve the more reflective aspects of the experience.  What was it like to see others work like you, but for an actual living?  For example, your working had a fixed end, in that you were doing this for a week and then you resumed your life as a student.  Others might have been working without a fixed end, supporting a family or providing for a sole income.  What was that distinction like?  Also, if you felt comfortable, detailing what it was like to go to work with your father might provide some level of reflection that could differentiate your work sample.
