How do you write a personal essay?
I need to select a personal problem from my own life and write a 250-word paper summarizing how you intend to solve the problem. Characterize yourself as either a Problem Creator, Problem Experiencer, Problem Solver or a Problem Eliminator, and explain why you chose that category. What characteristics of this category do you possess?
This is a very broad topic.
The first step is to selected a personal problem. Think about the various problems you may have had in the past and select one. It can be a financial problem, a relational problem, or anything else. It would be even more helpful if you were to pick a problem that you can elaborate on.
Second, think of how you addressed the problem. Did you make the problem worse? If you did, then you might characterize yourself as a problem creator. Did you make strides in overcoming the problem? If so, then you can characterize yourself as a problem solver.
Finally, explain why you characterized yourself in a certain way. Give a few reasons.
Let me give you an example. I experienced a logistical problem. I promised two friends that I would do something for each of them on the same day and at the same time. So, I was in a bind, and it was entirely my fault. When I realized this, I apologized and then I went out to solve the problem. I got someone to fill in for me to my friend's satisfaction. After I set this up, all was well.
