The battle room is a zero-gravity space where the boys of the Battle School can safely conduct their mock combat. To fight, the boys wear suits similar to space suits and carry "guns" that are capable of freezing portions of the suit. The battle room has walls with handholds at which the boys can launch themselves, and it is often occupied by large "stars," which are simply boxes—again, with handholds—that the boys can maneuver themselves around or use to hide behind.
