It is possible to see ways in which Soheil embodies many of the IB Learner Profile Traits. Two of the easiest traits to see are the ways in which Soheil is principled and a risk-taker. Rebelling against the structure of the interment camp is a tremendous risk. Already facing horrible conditions, the possibility of increased punishment would terrify many into passivity. By choosing a path of action instead, Soheil makes clear that he is willing to take risks and that he is unwilling to accept the injustice of the camp.

While one can make arguments for other traits (such as that Soheil's recognition of the camp's divide and conquer strategy makes him a Thinker), in a book that is largely about the passivity of most people enabling racist interment camps to exist, the characteristics that spur Soheil to action stick out to me.
