How are the themes of communism, Marxism, class struggles, and industrial revolution expressed in the novel?
The book The Time Machine is about a scientist who develops a machine that allows him to travel through time. He comes upon an Utopian society where all the members seemingly live in peace and harmony. This is supposed to be the demonstration of socialism or communism.
However, all is not what it seems to be. There is another class of people who are actually more dominant than the people that he is with. These are the people who use the people he meets as food. He soon learns that these are two distinct classes of people.
