Most organizations have in place what they call an organizational or business tree. This is a schematic/diagram that represents the various departments in the company and by way of a flow chart gives the progression of management. The organizational tree could be very small or quite large depending on the size of the company. A simple example could be: Chairman, CEO......President.....Vice President.....Controller.....Sales Manager.....Regional Sales Manager.....Unit manager.....Assistant manager.....Bookkeeper.....Director of safety and training.....Human resource director.....Assistant human resource director.....etc. The specific structure depends on the company.
