How should a instructor assist a student in meeting their career and academic goals?
Instructors should assist students in meeting their goals in at least two ways.
First, instructors must always create courses and lessons that are as good as possible. These courses and lessons will allow students to do well academically and will prepare them to succeed in their chosen careers.
Second, instructors should help students when they are asked. If a student wants to seek a career in a given professor's field, the student should ask the professor for advice. The professor must then be willing to give the student advice and guidance about preparing for such a career. Professors should also be willing to give such guidance when students ask for help in terms of academic goals.
