Customer service is one of the most important facets in building a business, and the availability of that service may be greatly impacted when service centers are relocated. The way in which such a move is handled can win increased customer loyalty or cause customers to take their business elsewhere.

In cases where businesses provide services to customers at a physical location, it is essential that the facility be adequate to serve the purpose. Movement to a new location gives businesses an opportunity to publicize the new address and to give examples of how the new area serves the customers with "efficiency, clarity of signage, lighting, accessibility for the disabled and simplicity. Everything should be easy to find." All these factors attract business and make work easier for employees.
